Shoutout to a customer who brought in a 90s mountain bike with a stuck bottom bracket

He said 'I just want to ride it again, not make it perfect,' and that really hit me. How do you guys balance a full rebuild versus just getting a bike rolling for someone?

It's a great question about where to draw the line. Do you ever worry that a simple fix might lead to a bigger problem down the road, like a worn chain ruining new gears? How do you decide what is truly safe to leave alone versus what needs to be addressed now?

That's the best kind of customer right there. Had a guy last month with a totally seized seatpost, just wanted it loose enough to adjust for his kid. Sometimes you just gotta do the simple fix and send them on their way.
