inPSA: Poly brush vs steel brush on clay flues
Yeah I ran it a few passes and could see tiny lines in the light. Not deep scratches but more like surface chatter. You're right though, poly takes more passes to get the same result. It's like using a soft sponge for a tough stain. You have to work harder but you get less damage. That's basically everything in life now. Washing dishes by hand takes forever but the dishwasher leaves spots. Taking the stairs is better for you but the elevator gets you there faster. Pick your poison I guess.

inTIL one CSS Grid property can totally replace float layouts for good
Did you run into any weird browser issues with grid-template-areas or was it smooth sailing from the start? It took me a weekend of trial and error but I haven't touched a float since.

inMy aunt insisted I needed to sift flour even for cookies and it actually made a difference
oh 100%, @michaeladams, same thing happened to me the first time i made cookies with sifted flour. i was like why did no one tell me about this sooner. it's wild how much of a difference just a few seconds of sifting can make, right?

inSpent $800 on a heated vest for winter harbor work and it's a total game changer
Is it really that different than a regular heated hoodie though?

inUpdate: Switched my dark mode editor background to a dark blue after a truck stop coffee break
Midnight blue is the way to go honestly. Did the same thing after a week of fighting with a lighter shade that made the whole room look like a hospital waiting area. Rolled on a full coat of deep navy and it cut the reflection way down plus it actually makes the space feel bigger somehow. Just make sure you get a good primer underneath or you'll be doing three coats minimum.
