Guy at my gym critiqued my show choices, now I can't unsee it
Was doing cardio at the gym on Tuesday, watching an episode of that Nordic noir thing everyone talks about. Dude on the treadmill next to me glances over for like 10 seconds, then says "you know the detective is gonna blame the wrong brother, right?" I paused, looked at him, and he just shrugged and went back to his run. I finished the episode, and sure enough, the detective blamed the wrong brother. Now every show I pick feels like that guy is in my head. Has anyone else had a random stranger spoil something so subtle it didn't even feel like a spoiler until it happened?
Man that is such a weirdly specific thing to say to a stranger. I had something similar happen with a coworker once, he told me "the mom's not really dead" about this crime show I was binging and I laughed it off. Then three episodes later I'm sitting there watching her walk into a diner and I nearly threw my remote. It's like they plant this tiny seed and you spend the whole time waiting for it, and it just ruins the fun of being surprised.
