I finally finished The Wire after 3 failed attempts
Started it 4 years ago on a plane to Denver. Kept getting lost with all the characters. Tried again last summer but fell asleep every episode. Third time I finally got through the first 4 episodes and it clicked. Anyone else have a show you had to restart multiple times before you got into it?

Funny, I actually see it a little different. The Wire clicked for me right away on episode 2, but I tried watching Breaking Bad three damn times and never got past season 2. Everyone talks about the slow burn but for me it just felt slow, period. I think some shows just grab you or they don't, no matter how many times you try.

Man I feel this so hard. "Finally clicked" is exactly the right way to put it. I had the same thing with Deadwood - tried three times and kept bouncing off the old timey talk. Then one night I just sat through a whole episode without my phone and it suddenly made sense. Funny how that works. What was the scene or moment that finally got you hooked on The Wire?
