Just realized why I can't get into slow-burn shows

I was trying to watch a drama everyone likes, but kept looking at my phone. It hit me that I need faster pacing to stay interested, maybe cause my brain is fried from kid chaos lmao. Do slow-burn shows ever work for you, or do you like something that starts quick?

Slow burns build the payoff better though.

Remember that old show "Mad Men"? I tried three times to get past the first few episodes because it felt like watching paint dry. But my sister kept saying the slow start was the whole point, that you had to settle into its rhythm like a long car trip.
