Showerthought: I think everyone is wrong about the best way to watch 'The Wire'

I tried the 'one episode a week' method people swear by to let it sink in, but it took me over six months to finish season one because I kept forgetting details and losing interest. I finally gave up and binged the last three seasons in a week, and the story made way more sense when it was fresh. Does anyone else think some shows are just meant to be binged, no matter what the 'right' way is?

My buddy tried that whole "savor it" thing with Breaking Bad. He'd watch one episode every Sunday like it was church. By the time he got to the next one, he'd completely forgotten why that pink teddy bear was in the pool. He said it felt like homework. Finally, he just mainlined the last two seasons over a weekend and called me, yelling about how everything clicked. Some shows just have too many threads to leave hanging for a week.

Yeah, I tried that "one episode a week" thing with a show once. Spent more time trying to remember who everyone was than actually enjoying it.
