The silence in that one episode was actually a real recording
Last weekend I rewatched the prison break episode from season 2 and noticed the guard's radio static sounded way too specific. I looked it up and found out they used an actual recording from a decommissioned PA system at a Missouri jail from 1987. Does anyone else go down these rabbit holes or am I just weird about background audio?

Used to write off background audio as pure filler, stuff the sound guys just grab from a library. But hearing that the static was a real recording from an actual jail flipped my whole view on it. Now I catch myself stopping every show to wonder what weird real-world sound I'm hearing in the mix.
