Saw a guy at a power plant in Houston do a weld test with a mirror
I was at a boiler retube job near the Ship Channel last month. This old hand was checking his root pass on a tight tube sheet using a dental mirror and a flashlight. Never thought to use one for that, made me feel pretty dumb. Anyone else got weird tricks for tight spots?

Man I've done the same thing with a little makeup mirror from the drugstore. Works like a charm for those rear tubes where you can't get your head in there. Your mileage may vary but I've been using one for years now on firetube jobs.
