Tried a new way to roll a 72 inch shell and the seam came out 3/8 off
I've been rolling shells the same way for 11 years, so last Tuesday I tried flipping the plate halfway through on a 72 inch job at our shop in Gary. The seam ended up 3/8 of an inch off square, which my fitter caught right away, and we had to trim and re-roll the whole thing. I think my old way was fine and I just got bored, but now I'm wondering if anyone else flips mid-roll or if you run it straight through. What's your go to on big shells?
