Warning: a stranger at the Denver library book sale ruined my highlighters for good
I was digging through the $2 paperbacks last Saturday and this retired teacher next to me saw my yellow highlighter and said she stopped marking books because it made her read for the marks, not the story. So now our club picks a question per chapter on sticky notes instead, and last week's discussion on Beloved went 40 minutes past closing. Anyone else have a club rule that came from a random conversation?
