Changed my mind about buying used guillotine cutters

I always thought buying a used guillotine cutter was asking for trouble. But I found a 18-inch Dahle at a garage sale for $40 and figured why not. The blade was dull but after watching a YouTube video on sharpening, it cuts cleaner than my old $200 trimmer ever did. Has anyone else had good luck with secondhand bindery tools?

Isn't it funny how a little research can totally change your mind on stuff like that? Glad the sharpening worked out, it's so satisfying when a gamble like that pays off.

Wait wait wait @fiona_lewis37 is right though, I cannot believe you snagged a Dahle for only forty bucks. That's insane. Those things are built like tanks, like seriously industrial grade. I've seen people sell just the blade for more than that. And you sharpened it yourself? That's wild, I would have probably messed it up and ruined the whole thing lol. But yeah, you got lucky, that's a deal most people would kill for.
