I used to think my apartment was too dark for plants
I was at the hardware store on Oak Street last month, just looking for a new pot. A woman in the gardening aisle saw me holding a fern and said, 'That one needs more light than you think.' She pointed me toward a snake plant instead. I bought it, put it in my north-facing living room, and it's actually grown two new leaves in six weeks. What other low-light plants have worked for people in shady spots?

Thrive on neglect" sounds like a recipe for a dead plant to me.

Oh nice! My buddy stuck a ZZ plant in his awful basement bathroom and the thing just will not die. They really do thrive on neglect and dim corners. He hasn't watered it in like a month and it's still green.
