My old field notebook habit was useless until I tried audio notes
I used to scribble plant IDs on paper during hikes, but my handwriting got so bad after mile 4 that I couldn't read anything. Last spring I finally started recording quick voice memos on my phone, like 'hairy stem, purple spots near the creek in Shenandoah'. Now I transcribe them at home and my records are way more detailed. Has anyone else switched to audio for tracking specimens out in the wild?
