Vent: Every plant care app gives me different advice for the same succulent

I keep trying to use those free plant identification and care apps on my phone. But for my jade plant, one app says water it every two weeks, and another says only when the soil is completely dry. I followed the first one and almost overwatered it last month. Now I'm scared to trust any of them because my plant looks sad. It feels like they all just guess instead of giving real help. I just want a straight answer so my plant can thrive. Maybe I should go back to using my old gardening book instead.

Yeah, I killed a cactus trusting an app. @felixdixon gets it, just check the soil.

That bit about every plant care app giving different advice for your jade plant hits home. My friend went through the same thing with her snake plant, downloading three apps that all told her to water on totally different schedules. She followed one that said every week and nearly drowned the poor thing before she caught on. Now she ignores them and just pokes the soil or waits for the leaves to look a bit soft. Do you find your plant gives you clearer signs than the apps do?

Haydensanchez is right... trusting the soil over some app.
