Warning: my ficus dropped every leaf after I moved it away from the window, but my pothos in the same dark corner is thriving and I want to know why

I moved both plants to a north facing room in my Chicago apartment 5 weeks ago and the ficus lost 14 leaves in 10 days while the pothos pushed out 3 new ones, is there a light meter reading or window direction trick people use to keep ficus happy in low light?
