Just realized my 'simple' logo redesign was missing a huge piece
I stripped a client's old logo down to just the icon and a clean font, thinking it was a clear upgrade. The client said it felt cold and generic, which made me see I'd removed the small, friendly curve in the original lettering that gave it character. Anyone else have a tiny detail they've learned not to overlook?

Forget the soul when you polish the bones.

Ugh, that's the worst. Those tiny details are the whole personality sometimes. Easy to kill the charm by over cleaning.

My friend pressure-washed the original brick on her 1920s bungalow. It went from having this cool, soft, historic look to just looking like a bright red Lego block. All the character was in that worn patina, you know? Now it just looks new and sort of cheap.
