Swore by hand mixing mortar, but a big job made me switch to power mixers.

We finished the foundation so much faster with a mixer that I'm never going back!

Seriously, the health side of it is huge that no one talks about! Hand mixing destroys your back and shoulders over time, leading to constant pain later on. A power mixer saves your body from all that damage, not just your time on the job. I've met older guys who can barely lift their arms from years of mixing by hand. It's a total game changer for your long term well being, lol.

My uncle's shoulders are shot from decades of hand mixing, so @hayes.uma is right about the long term damage. A mixer just makes sense.
