My pressure cooker's seal split right before a big batch of beans

I had to finish them in a regular pot for 3 hours, which doubled my gas bill. Anyone know a good source for generic replacement gaskets that won't cost more than the meal?

Oh man, that's the worst. My buddy had his seal go right as he started a big batch of chili for a party. He ended up having to borrow three slow cookers from neighbors to finish it, total mess. I mean, maybe check the brand's website first? Sometimes they sell the parts way cheaper than a whole new pot.

My cousin works at an appliance repair shop and says the seals on those things can actually be flipped upside down sometimes for a temporary fix. Might buy you a week to order the right part.

My old Presto cooker had a seal split last year. I just used some food grade silicone grease on the old ring and it held pressure fine for another six months. Those things are tougher than they look.
