Just realized I was overpaying for airport meals by $14 each trip
I used to grab whatever sandwich and coffee I could find past security, usually around $22 total. Last month in Chicago O'Hare I noticed a family unpacking tupperware at a empty gate area, so I asked about it. They told me they hit a grocery store near their hotel the night before and packed snacks and a full lunch. I tried the same thing on my next flight out of Denver and spent $8 at a local market instead of my usual $40 at the airport. Now I always stop for a pre-made wrap and fruit before heading in, and I save enough to cover a cheap museum ticket. Does anyone else plan airport food ahead, or am I late to this? Has anyone had trouble getting certain foods through security, like yogurt or peanut butter?
