Showerthought: I think the $1,200 I spent on a mini-split for climate control was a total waste.

@the_ben your bank account is probably fine. just don't look at it too much. but honestly? i see it different. that automatic transfer thing feels like hiding from the problem. you're still spending the same amount. you're just tricking yourself into feeling better about it. i tried the auto-savings thing. felt good for a month. then i realized i was just using my savings as a guilt-free way to overspend everywhere else. the number in checking still looked fine so i blew it. real change is harder. you gotta actually look at where every dollar goes. make a budget that hurts. cut stuff you actually like. that's the only thing that worked for me. small wins are nice. but sometimes you need the real ugly truth. not a bandaid.

Just realized that old lady's VCR repair from 3 years ago still sticks with me

Three years is actually about the average lifespan of most basic VCR belts and rubber parts. That repair probably kept her machine running longer than a new budget VCR would have lasted you know. It's that kind of practical wisdom we forget in the age of disposable electronics.

Heard my buddy say 'every studio should have a designated messy table' and now I get it

Yeah totally agree @barbara_moore73, did the same thing and it saved my workflow.

Showerthought: A single Boeing 747 has about 6 million parts, half of which are fasteners

That "half of which are fasteners" part got me too. Makes you wonder who’s counting all those screws and if they ever lost count.

My art teacher called my color combos "aggressive" and it messed with my head

Took me years to stop slapping every loud color I liked onto one page. Your teacher nailed it.
