Last month I got called to a 12-stop hydraulic in a downtown Denver medical building. Everything seized, leaking, the works. By 3pm I had swapped 8 guide rail brakes and 2 safeties by myself in a 90 degree machine room. The kicker was the building manager came down at 4 and asked if I could finish by 5 because of some board meeting. I told him I already did and he just walked away. Anyone else ever have a day where everything actually goes right on a repair?

I chose Procreate over Photoshop for my last 3 commissions and people gave me weird looks

Everyone in my local art group swears by Photoshop for serious work, but I've been using Procreate on my iPad for character illustrations the past 6 months. For a $30 one-time cost versus the $55 a month Adobe wants, I can knock out a full-body character render in about 4 hours flat. Has anyone else found that switching tools changed your workflow more than you expected?

Picked Tailwind over a custom CSS framework for our tool and now second guessing it

We were building this internal dashboard for tracking inventory at our warehouse, nothing fancy just something to help the guys on the floor. I had to choose between going with Tailwind or rolling our own tiny CSS framework with some BEM style classes. I picked Tailwind because I thought it'd be faster to prototype with and everyone online loves it. Six weeks in and my HTML files look like a mess of utility classes and the other devs keep asking where specific styles are defined. The worst part is the build setup keeps breaking on our older laptops that run Windows 7 still. Has anyone else switched from a utility first system to something more traditional mid project? How did you handle the transition without losing your mind?

It happened last Tuesday on a standard cleaning in Capitol Hill. I was about 20 feet up, and the hose just gave way with a loud pop. Soot went everywhere, all over the client's white living room carpet. I had to shut everything down, tape the hose with duct tape as a quick fix, and finish the job with half the suction.
