I finally got around to fixing that squeaky floorboard
Turns out it was just a loose nail, idk why I waited so long. Maybe it's just me, but small fixes like that really improve how a room feels.

Yeah I read something about how sometimes the real fix isn't just nailing it down... this home repair site said if the board is really moving, you should put some special wood glue in the gap and then screw it down tight. Sounded messy but they said it stops the wood from rubbing forever. Makes sense when you think about it... the noise is just wood rubbing on wood or a nail. That quiet after is just the best feeling, like the house can finally relax.

You ever try that with construction adhesive? I did it on my stairs once and it totally worked but wow what a pain to clean up after.

The board by my front door was driving me nuts for months. Honestly, I just kept putting a rug over it. Tbh what finally worked was a hammer and a nail setter to sink the old nail deeper and then add two new ones right next to it. The quiet is amazing now. It's crazy how one annoying sound can make the whole house feel kinda broken.
