My table saw keeps jamming on oak cuts
I've been trying to build a bookshelf from oak, but my table saw keeps jamming. It's costing me time and wood. How do you deal with tough wood types?

My first oak project was a coffee table. I went through three saw blades just cutting the legs. At that point, I realized oak isn't wood, it's a personality test for your patience. The grain is so wild it seems to fight you every step of the way.

Sand oak for five minutes and you'll see why masons27 called it a nightmare. I tried to make a simple picture frame last year and the wood split right down the middle. Oak is so hard it laughs at normal saw blades. I spent more time fixing my mistakes than actually building anything. What's the toughest wood you've worked with?
