I tracked every book I read for 3 years in a plain list, and my BuJo the past 6 months changed how I pick what to read next
For 3 years I kept a plain text file called reads.txt and just typed the title and date I finished each book. It worked fine until this past January when I hit 41 books and could not remember a single thing about half of them. So I moved it into my bullet journal and started adding a 2 line note after each one about where I was when I finished it and what stuck. Turns out 6 of my last 10 books were ones I read on the couch in the same spot, and the ones I liked most were all finished on trips or at coffee shops downtown. Now I check the notes before picking my next book and I have stopped grabbing stuff just because it was on a bestseller table. The silly part is the little note takes 30 seconds and tells me more than a star rating ever did. Has anyone else found that where you read a book changes what you think of it?
