Showerthought: a gal at the art shop in Boise showed me her dot grid trick, and my spreads finally make sense
I was standing in the pen aisle at Artist & Craftsman in Boise last week when the woman next to me flipped open her journal to show me how she sets up her dot grid pages. She marks the margin with a light pencil line 3 squares in before she ever picks up a pen, so nothing drifts and her columns stay even. Do you all pencil in guide lines first, or just eyeball it and hope for the best?
