Unpopular opinion: My $40 fountain pen is the only reason my bullet journal still exists

I got a Lamy Safari last year after my cheap pens kept skipping and bleeding through the pages. That one pen made writing feel good, not like a chore. I stopped dreading my daily log because the ink flow is so smooth. Now I actually want to open my journal. Anyone else have a simple tool that completely changed their habit?

Made writing feel good, not like a chore" feels like a stretch. I used a fancy pen for a while and it just made me more stressed about losing it. A basic one does the same job without the worry.

Kai_stone99 might be onto something there. I used to do garage work with this old timer who had a beat-up Snap-on ratchet he'd had since the 70s, never once thought about losing it because it looked like it had been through a war. Fancy stuff just adds a layer of worry that takes away from the actual job.
