Why does nobody talk about how expensive sticker collections get in bullet journaling?

I got really into buying those cute thematic sticker packs on Etsy for my habit tracker and mood log. After about 4 months I realized I had spent over $120 on stickers I barely used, most of them just sitting in a drawer. Half the time I'd pick a sticker for a day and then regret it later because it didn't match the vibe. Has anyone else sunk too much cash into sticker hoarding before realizing the simple pen and highlighter method works fine?
