A local library's website went from impossible to use to pretty good in about 18 months

I was trying to book a room at my town's library online maybe two years ago, and it was a mess. The buttons were tiny, the text was light gray on white, and the calendar picker was just broken on my phone. I had to call them. I checked again last week, and it's totally different. They made the buttons bigger and a darker blue, the text is black now, and the forms are way simpler. I asked a librarian, and she said they got a grant specifically for digital access and hired a consultant. Has anyone else seen a public site make a big, fast turn like that?

My old shop in Toledo had the same "close enough" attitude until we started on a batch of custom headers. The cheap test strips we used were always giving different shades of green. Switched to a refractometer and had to learn that the blue line is the one you actually read, not the shadow.

I was reading an old library book on wood stains and found a wild fact about shellac

Just checked my own copy of that book, the 1974 reprint. The coverage number is right, but they're talking about a 3-pound cut, not a 2-pound cut. A 2-pound cut would cover even more area. The math works if you're doing the proper french polish method, building it up super thin. Most of us mix it too heavy because we want to see it go on.
