Had a customer in Dallas ask if we could 'butcher' a watermelon like a ham

I had to explain the difference between a boning knife and a chef's knife while he watched, and he still left with a whole watermelon. Anyone ever get a request that made you just stop and stare?

Was he really expecting a spiral cut watermelon or something? It's a fruit, not a side of beef. How do you even get through life not knowing a knife is just a knife for that job?

Come on @garcia.miles, it's just a knife. Maybe the guy has only ever used those cheap plastic ones that snap. Not everyone grew up with a proper kitchen. It's not that deep, people can learn.
