I finally told a customer to just go to the grocery store instead
Had a guy come in last Tuesday asking if I could French trim a pork shoulder for a BBQ competition. Told him it'd cost $25 extra and take 20 minutes. He stood there arguing that his uncle could do it with a fillet knife in 5 minutes flat. I handed him back his meat and said go let uncle handle it then. Anyone else just stop dealing with customers who think they know your job better than you?

Correct their cousin didn't charge for time or cleanup though.

oh man this reminds me of something that happened to my friend carrie who bakes cakes out of her house. she had this lady order a custom birthday cake with a really specific design that needed like layers of fondant and hand painted details. carrie quoted her $85 and the lady went off about how her cousin could do it with a box mix and store bought frosting for $20. carrie just said okay great your cousin can do it then and cancelled the order completely. the lady came back two days later all apologetic saying her cousin's cake looked terrible and fell apart. carrie said sorry but she was fully booked by then. sometimes people just need to learn the hard way that skill and time cost money.
