I was totally wrong about hiring a dedicated HR person

Honestly that still sounds like a lot for a small team... could have probably just read a few articles online and fixed it yourself.

Our book club meeting in Denver totally fell apart over the ending of 'Klara and the Sun'. What's a good way to handle a split vote on a book's meaning?

Oh man, that happened with my group over "The Road". We just agreed to disagree and moved the snacks out. Sometimes you gotta let the book be a mystery.

I finally learned my lesson about cheap boning knives the hard way

Man, that sounds like a nightmare. My buddy had the exact same thing happen with a cheap fillet knife, the blade just popped right out of the handle on a big pike. @hugo37 is totally right about the tang. After that mess, he saved up for a Victorinox with the rosewood handle, says the flex is perfect and it's been solid for years. What length blade are you looking for?

Warning: Over-planning my days was killing my bullet journal vibe

Try planning your week down to the minute, only to have a last-minute meeting ruin everything. You think you've got it all figured out with three main tasks, but then life throws a curveball. Like when I decided to organize my closet and ended up with a bigger mess than I started with. Or when a simple email reply turns into a two-hour deep dive into a problem. So much for changing how you see planning, it just makes you see how crazy everything really is.

PSA: Spotting more seatbelts in use around job sites lately

It's really good to hear that. Safety culture can take a long time to change, so noticing more people buckling up is a big deal. Every single person who does it makes the whole site a bit safer. It's one of those simple things that just becomes a normal habit, and that's when you know the message is getting through. Really encouraging to see.
