My backroom overhaul has me stuck on one big choice

Honestly, I'm upgrading my aging walk-in cooler and can't pick between a full redo or just patching it up. Some guys say a new system saves cash over time, but others think fixes are fine if it still holds temp. What's your take on putting money into cold storage updates?

That point from luna_wells57 about overthinking the patch job really hits home. Too many people jump straight to a full rebuild when a solid repair would buy them years without the huge cost and mess. Unless your cooler is on a real temperature roller coaster or you see serious moisture getting in, pouring new money into old bones can work just fine. You’ll know pretty quick if a patch isn’t holding, and then you can always upgrade later.

Sheesh, how bad is this cooler actually? If it still holds temp and the door seals fine, you might just be overthinking a simple patch job. I've seen guys dump way too much cash into perfect systems when a few new panels would do. Unless you're losing product or getting crazy electric bills, is the stress of a full rebuild even worth it?

That backroom choice is a real headache. The patch job route makes sense if the core system is still solid. Save the big money for when you really need it.
