My $8 clone keyboard clicks better than the $90 one I got at Micro Center in Minneapolis
Picked up a cheap knockoff board at a swap meet for 8 bucks just to have something to tear apart, and the switches in it have this sharp little snap that my pricey one never had. The expensive board I got at Micro Center in Minneapolis sounds muddy and hollow, like tapping a plastic cup, while this cheap thing is crisp and tight. Took the cap off both to poke around and realized the cheap one sits the switches right against the plate, no foam or gap eating the sound. So now the fancy one lives in a drawer and the swap meet board is on my desk, which feels backwards. Anyone else find the budget stuff beats the name brand once you actually listen close?

Think the swap meet board just happens to sit right, not that cheap always wins. Build and plate mount matter way more than price, and a lot of pricey boards hide that with foam.
