My nephew called my Model M keyboard 'too loud' and now I can't stop thinking about it
He's 14 and he sat down at my desk in Springfield last Saturday to type something for school and said the buckling springs sounded like 'popcorn in the microwave.' I laughed it off, but then he pulled out his tablet and typed on glass with no sound at all, and he looked happier about it. Meanwhile I've been chasing click for 20 years and never once asked if the sound was actually good or just loud. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I like the noise because it feels nice or because it reminds me of the office I worked in back in 1998. Anyone here ever have a kid ruin a sound you loved for two decades in one sentence?
