The hotel elevator panel at the Hyatt in Columbus ruined membrane buttons for me
Stayed there two weeks ago for a work thing and every floor button was a flat membrane pad with zero travel. I pressed 7 three separate times because I never got that click or thunk to confirm it registered, and I ended up riding to the 4th floor twice by accident. Now when I see flat panels on anything, from a microwave to a car dash, I jab at them like a weirdo just to feel something back. Gave my old Game Boy a fresh set of tact switches after that trip and the difference is night and day. Does anyone here keep one clicky device around just to remind themselves what a real press feels like?
