Thought membrane keyboards would ruin typing for me, but a guy at a flea market in Akron sold me a 1994 IBM board for $8 and I get it now
The buckling spring clack is loud enough that my roommate banged on the wall twice last Tuesday, but that little metal ping on every key press makes cheap rubber domes feel like typing on a wet sponge, so has anyone found a quiet-ish switch that still has that snap?

Quiet switches like browns still feel mushy compared to that Akron board, so I'd say skip the silent stuff and just get your roommate some cheap earplugs instead.
