Used to slap my spacebar like it owed me money, now I tap it with one finger
Two years ago I typed like I was mad at the keyboard. Full palm slam on the spacebar, loud enough that my roommate in our Columbus apartment asked if I was playing drums at 1am. Then my old membrane board died and I switched to a board with brown switches, and the sound changed into this hollow thock that made me actually listen to what I was doing. Around March I noticed my left thumb was sore, so I started tapping the spacebar with just the tip of my thumb instead of mashing it flat. Weird part is the click got quieter but way more satisfying, a clean little pop instead of a wet slap. Now I sit at my desk and pick out single keys just to hear them, which my girlfriend says is not normal behavior for a 34 year old man. Anyone else change how hard they press once they actually started paying attention to the noise?
