Showerthought: 19 out of 20 cabinet doors warped last winter because I skipped one thing
Last month I delivered a set of 20 maple shaker doors to a client in Albany and by week two, 19 of them had twisted at the stiles. I traced it back to the lumber I bought from a yard that stored it near a loading dock, so the moisture content was all over the place. I usually check with a meter but that week I was rushing and figured the boards felt dry enough. Cost me $640 in replacements and a very awkward phone call. Anyone else had a batch go bad from not metering, or am I the only one who gets lazy when the deadline is close?
