Can we talk about how I hit 1,000 installs and felt weirdly empty about it?
I was cleaning out my truck last week and found my old install log book from when I started in 2011. Flipped to the last page and realized I just passed 1,000 jobs for this one company I've been with since 2019, and I honestly felt nothing when I wrote the number down. Back when I started, hitting 100 installs felt like a big deal because it meant I wasn't getting sent back to redo work every other day. Now I can run a 4-room coax and internet drop in under 3 hours without thinking, and the number just keeps going up. The weird part is that the job that got me to 1,000 was a messy attic run in August heat here in Fort Worth, and I was too tired to even care. My old lead guy used to say the number that matters isn't how many you've done, it's how many people call back asking for you by name. I don't have that number written down anywhere, and I kinda wish I did. Anyone else keep a log or count, or did you stop tracking after the first few hundred?
