Tbh I just wasted $80 on a 'universal' lens spanner wrench that didn't fit anything
Honestly, I bought it online last month thinking it would handle a bunch of different lens rings. Ngl, the metal was super soft and the pins bent on the first try with an old Nikon zoom. I'm out the cash and had to order the proper tool anyway. Has anyone found a decent brand for these that actually works?

Ugh, classic universal tool that fits nothing! Did it come in a box labeled "disappointment and soft metal"?

Oh man, @felix_martin56, I gotta push back a little on that. I've had a few of those universal tools actually save my butt when I didn't have the right socket or wrench. The trick is you really have to crank down on them to bite into the bolt head. They're not for heavy duty stuff, but for quick fixes they can be okay. The metal is definitely softer than a proper tool, so you can't go crazy with the torque. I keep one in my car glove box just in case, and it's gotten me out of a pinch more than once.
