inWhich do you prefer for a first watch: dubs or subs?
yeah that's basically what i did when i started learning spanish, except i started with like kids shows on netflix lol. @josephf10 is right though because now when i hear spanish my brain kinda translates the mouth movements automatically. for example i was watching narcos the other day and could tell they re-dubbed some lines just from how the lips didn't sync up. it's honestly wild how quick your brain picks that stuff up once you train it from the get go.

inHot take: that multimeter you carry is lying to you on DC voltage readings
Huh, that's a really interesting take @jade618. I've been messing with vintage analog meters for years, and one thing I notice is that the cheap modern ones often have terrible input protection. One slip with a probe near a live circuit and the whole thing goes up in smoke, while my old Simpson still works fine. But you're right that the simple stuff can stay consistent over decades, no digital drift or capacitor aging to worry about. Really makes you wonder what tradeoffs matter most depending on what you're actually trying to measure day to day.

inFound an old blueprint that said I was doing it wrong for 20 years
Always used the 1/2 inch spacing myself, just assumed that was the standard forever. Hearing that it changed back in 82 makes me rethink a lot of old projects. Might have to dig through some of my own old files and see what other bad habits I picked up.

inOverheard a kid at the print shop say 'why would anyone need a logo' and it hit me different
I read that 75% of people judge a business's credibility just by the logo, so that $300 probably paid for itself real quick.
