Took apart a customer's Pentax last Tuesday and a dead moth fell out of the mirror box
A lady dropped off a Pentax K1000 that she said smelled funny when she looked through the viewfinder. I pulled the lens off and shook it a bit, and a dried moth the size of my thumbnail dropped onto the bench. Turns out it had crawled in through the back, died in there, and its wings were leaving little smudges on the focus screen. I cleaned everything out, ran it through a roll to check, and it shoots fine now. Has anyone else found bugs or critters hiding inside a body, and did you charge extra for the surprise?
