Tried cleaning a Pentax K1000's prism with a drop of lighter fluid and it went cloudy.
I was in a rush and used a tiny bit on a cotton swab, but it left a permanent haze on the silvering. What's your go-to safe cleaner for old prism mirrors?

Honestly that's a real bummer, it happens to the best of us when we're trying to fix things fast. Tbh I just stick with a little bit of distilled water on a microfiber cloth for stuff like that. Really gotta be gentle with those old coatings.

Lighter fluid on a prism is wild. That stuff eats coatings for breakfast. I just use a rocket blower and a soft brush for dust.
