Trail mix tip from a ranger at Glacier saved my trip
Last summer at Glacier NP, a ranger told me to ditch my plastic bag and repack trail mix into a wide-mouth Nalgene bottle. I thought it was weird, but the mix doesn't get crushed and you can eat straight from the bottle while hiking. Also, no crinkling noise scares off the wildlife. Anyone else use a bottle for snacks instead of a bag?
