Sat in a coffee shop for 2 hours trying to match a single hex code from a photo

I kept flipping between Canva's color picker and Figma's eyedropper until I realized my laptop screen brightness was messing with both, so I emailed the client for the brand guide and it matched on the first try - has anyone else wasted time chasing colors that were just a screen setting issue?

Screen brightness got you too? That's exactly why I always check on my phone before sending anything. Honestly monitors are all liars.

Read somewhere that the average person checks their email on like three different screens before they actually send it. Makes sense though, phones usually have way more accurate brightness and contrast than these cheap office monitors. Thats why I always preview stuff on my phone first before hitting send.
