Switched my client deck from Figma to Canva for a quick pitch, no regrets

I had to throw together a 12 slide proposal for a local bakery owner in Portland last Friday and Figma was just too slow for me to make all those custom illustrations and text effects. Canva's drag and drop templates let me finish that whole deck in like 2 hours with their photo library and fonts, and the client actually said it looked more polished than the wireframey stuff I usually send. Anyone else find themselves leaning on Canva for deadline-driven client work even if Figma is your main tool?

But that 2 hour turnaround is probably going to bite you later when the bakery wants actual brand guidelines or a proper design system, and you have to rebuild everything from scratch in Figma anyway. Canva decks look slick on the surface, but they fall apart the second a client asks for a small tweak that breaks the template's layout logic, and then you're stuck fighting the tool instead of just moving a frame. You're trading real design control for a pretty shortcut, and that's a bad trade when the deadline pressure hits on the next project.
