Watched a guy at a Phoenix print shop rebuild his Canva flyer in Figma in 20 min flat
I was waiting on a banner pickup at a shop on Grand Ave last Friday and the designer next to me was fixing a client flyer that had gone sideways in Canva. He pulled the whole thing into Figma, rebuilt the text blocks as auto layout frames, and had it print-ready before my order was even done. Is there a faster way to catch Canva spacing problems before they hit the printer, or do you just rebuild everything in Figma from the start?
Rebuilt the text blocks as auto layout frames" sounds slick but that's honestly overkill for most of what walks into a print shop. Nine times out of ten the spacing looks off because the client used Canva's default line height and letter spacing, and you can just nudge those in Canva itself before exporting. The real trick is downloading the PDF for print and eyeballing the actual file, not the editor, since that's what the printer sees. Learning Figma is cool but rebuilding every flyer from scratch gets old fast when the fix was two clicks in the original tool.
