Does the whole "fancier is better" mindset ever actually work out for people in your experience? I've seen so many folks buy the expensive version of something and then still end up using it the same way as the basic one lol.

Honestly, "too clean" feels like a weird nitpick to me. Like, are these people so easily fooled by a little padding and color that they can't tell a draft from a finished product? I get the strategy behind stripping it down, but it also sounds like a lot of extra work just to get people to pay attention. Most clients I've dealt with either get it or they don't, and making things uglier doesn't guarantee they'll suddenly have better opinions. Seems like overthinking a pretty simple problem, but hey, if it works for you, I guess it works.
