A dispatcher in Reno told me to stop booking open carriers for my lowered Miata
I shipped my Miata from Sacramento to Denver back in March and booked an open carrier because it saved me about $300. The dispatcher on the phone said flat out, "your car sits 3 inches off the ground, you want enclosed or you want a new bumper." I switched to enclosed, paid $1,150 instead, and when it arrived the driver showed me photos of a Corvette on his last open load with scraped rocker panels. Now I ask every broker two things before booking: does the driver use ramps or a winch, and how low can they go. Anyone else had a broker catch something you would have missed on your own?

Wait, the driver actually had photos of the damage from his last load? That's wild, like he's carrying around proof of his own crimes or something lol. I would have freaked out seeing those pics after my car was already loaded up and on the truck.
