Just realized the guy pushing open carriers at the lot in Albany was dead wrong about enclosed trailers
About 6 months ago I was picking up a car in Albany and this older driver kept telling me enclosed trailers were a waste of money for anything under 30 grand, saying he'd hauled "a thousand of them" and never seen a scratch on an open deck. Then he walks me over to a car that had sat outside for 3 weeks and the whole hood was pitted with bird mess and tree sap that ate into the clear coat, and he just shrugged and said that was normal wear. Am I crazy for thinking an extra $400 to $600 for enclosed is worth it on anything you actually care about?
