Rant: I shipped my Corolla to Phoenix with 3/4 tank and found out the hard way about weight limits
I moved from Cleveland to Phoenix last month and booked an open carrier for my 2016 Corolla. I figured leaving my winter stuff in the trunk and a full tank of gas would be fine and save me packing space. When the driver showed up he told me carriers cap personal items at 100 lbs and charge by the pound over that, and my trunk junk was pushing 300. He said "I can take it or leave it, but the weight goes on the bill." Cost me an extra $85 and a panic call to my brother to come grab two boxes. The thing is, I never read the fine print on the booking site and just assumed everyone loads their car up. So how do you all handle the trunk load when you ship a car, do you just strip it down to nothing?
